Stayed in March 2017 for 5 nights. Booked via their web site which is really top class and very informative.
The hotel is situated one block from the main street... read more which gives access to busy part but also provides much needed privacy - this is a party town.
The rooms/bathroom were spotlessly clean and were serviced every day with fresh towels etc. The room size was more than adequate with an interesting little courtyard attached.
The design/architecture theme of the hotel fits well into the desert environment where San Pedro is located.
The web site also allows you to book day excursions to visit the surrounding attractions which is why you are in San Pedro. We took advantage of this option which to us, was better than shopping around the many tour operators in town. It also gave us confidence that if booked via the hotel - it would happen. We were pleased with the result.
There is no air-conditioning which means it could be hot in summer during the day and cold in winter during the evening but in March it was not needed.
Wifi is free and strength is good quality in the rooms.
Breakfast is basic - eggs, bread,butter and jam - but more than adequate.
Reception was extremely helpful and friendly even though English was very basic.
In summary Dunas Hotel represents good value for money in a very expensive town.
I would recommend this hotel.

Comme partout à Atacama, si vous ne parlez pas espagnol c'est un peu problématique 🙂 le personnel parle difficilement anglais donc c'est un peu compliqué pour vous faire comprendre mais ils étaient sympas !
L'hôtel est situé en plein milieu de la petite ville un peu à l'écart des bars et restos (donc parfait si vous souhaitez être un peu au calme !).
On recommande cet hôtel a tous les backpackers s'arrêtant ici!

Staff at hotel were very helpful didn’t speak very much English (not surprising really as we are in Chile) but one way or another we did manage to communicate surly it’s all part of the fun .I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hotel Dunas we had a great experience

They even had someone at the front desk at 4am so we could check out before our geyser tour! The room has a little backyard area which was nice at night to sit out and drink a beer. If you pay Chile Peso, you would have to pay 19% tax like Chile citizens. It was unreasonable. More unreasonable.

Kids had good space outside to run around without fear of cars or running into people. All the staff were friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was a good spread. They also accommodated our early morning trip to the Geyser by giving us take away breakfast. Plenty of parking if you are planning to rent a car.
